I think Mark Paul is best known for his role as Zack Morris in NBC’s Saved by the Bell which aired from 1989 to 1993. What a cutie he was! In 1991 he won, “Best Young Actor Starring in an Off-Primetime Series” for Saved by the Bell.
He has been in many series after SBTB but all of them were canceled, bummer. Some include: Good Morning, Miss Bliss, Saved by the Bell: The College Years, Hyperion Bay, D.C., NYPD Blue, Commander in Chief, John from Cincinnati & Raising the Bar. Wow, this guy is always working on some series, never give up is my motto and it looks like he’s doing that! He is a fine actor and whatever I have seen him in is always good.
In 2009 he made his Off-Broadway stage debut in Theresa Rebeck’s play “The Understudy” with The Roundabout Theatre Company it ran in New York until January 2010.
In March 2010 Mark-Paul was in Atlanta filming the new TNT series Franklin & Bash. The series has a ten-episode order from the network and premiered on June 1, 2011. Franklin & Bash is about two young, fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants street lawyers who cause a seismic culture clash when they join a legendary, button-down law firm. Breckin Meyer is Jared Franklin, who is a party-boy and son of a famous trial lawyer who loves sticking it to authority every chance he gets, while Mark-Paul Gosselaar plays Peter Bash, Franklin’s best friend and legal partner. He is more mature and level-headed than Franklin, and still has feelings for his ex-girlfriend, Janie.
In August 2010 he guest-starred on an episode of TNT’s series, Rizzoli & Isles which stars lovely Angie Harmon.
Mark-Paul first met his wife, Lisa Ann Russell on the set of Saved By The Bell and married her in 1996. They had a son named Michael Charles (born January 31, 2004) & a daughter named Ava Lorenn Gosselaar (born May 7, 2006). On June 3, 2010, Mark-Paul and Lisa Ann separated and filed for divorce.
He still keeps in touch with his Saved by the Bell co-star Mario López & Tiffani Amber Thiessen and agreed to a SBTB reunion which Jimmy Fallon is organizing. That should be fun!
