Okay I just recently saw a film that scared the bejeezus out of me, LOL. It was called High Tension “Haute Tension” and starred Cécile de France. Now I had no idea who this actress was until I saw this movie and after watching this film had to know what other films she had done (the truth is I was thinking I probably could never see her in another film and not be traumatized watching her, she did such an amazing job in the movie High Tension, she played a crazy person so convincingly, I am the type of person where most horror films have no affect on me, they just can’t scare me but this movie and her performance was down right scary and I must say I enjoyed every minute of being scared! LOL) This film was directed by Alexandre Aja, it’s about two college friends, Marie and Alexa, who encounter loads of trouble (and blood) while on vacation at Alexa’s parents’ country home when a “mysterious” killer invades their quiet getaway. At the end of this movie you will be saying to yourself or others that are watching it with you…what the hell! I know I was, until I watched it over again and things became much clearer to me. But it still scared the hell out of me anyway you “slice” it! *Mwahahaha*
Anyways, another one of her films I saw, was called Hereafter, the story centers on three people a blue-collar American (Matt Damon), a French journalist (Cécile de France) and a London school boy (Frankie McLaren & George McLaren) their experiences with death have them looking for answers about the afterlife, it was directed by Clint Eastwood. Very good movie and if I had not known any better I wouldn’t have guessed it was the same girl from High Tension. I honestly haven’t seen any other films she has been in but can’t wait to see more. She is quite a versatile actress!
Here’s a little about Cecile…
Cecile de France was born in Namur, Belgium on July 17, 1975. When she was 17 she moved to Paris to study theatre for a couple of years with actor Jean Paul Denizon, assistant to British director Peter Brook. She then spent three years (1995–98) at the acting academy ENSATT (École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre) in the Département Comédie first at the Rue Blanche in Paris, then in Lyon. She was discovered by the agent Dominique Besnehard and appeared in French hit films such as L’Art (délicat) de la séduction (2001) and Irène (2002). Her international breakthrough came with the horror thriller Haute Tension (2003, UK title: Switchblade Romance, US title: High Tension), which was a worldwide success. Her first major role in a US feature was Around the World in 80 Days (2004), which starred Jackie Chan and Steve Coogan.
I found this cute little story online with Cecile…As a timid Belgian schoolgirl, Cecile de France was called upon by her teacher to stand in front of the classroom and recite a poem. “I was a bit shy, and she said, ‘OK, Cecile, come on,’ ” recalled Cecile. She read the poem as her classmates watched her with big eyes. “And the next week, after the teacher said, ‘OK, who wants to tell the poem?’ Everyone said, ‘Ce-cile! Ce-cile!’ And this moment, I felt like, I have my place in the classroom. I have my passion.”

-I prefer thrillers but when it’s thriller/horror I like it. The gore is not very important to me, I prefer suspense. But I like dark films.
