I bet most of you know Fred Savage from his early days on the hit 1980’s TV series The Wonder Years. It was a cool show centering around Kevin Arnold (Fred Savage) and his life as a teenager growing up in the 1960’s. I enjoyed it and still tune into the reruns on TV.

Here’s a little info on him…Fred was born Fredrick Aaron “Fred” Savage on July 9, 1976. His younger brother is actor Ben Savage who is also an actor and made his film debut at the age of 8 in his brother Fred’s hit Little Monsters. Ben is probably best known for his role as Cory Matthews on the TV sitcom Boy Meets World, which was on from 1993 to 2000. Fred also has a sister, Kala Savage who is an actress/musician. Fred married his childhood friend, Jennifer Lynn Stone and they have two children, a son named Oliver born August 5, 2006 and a daughter named Lily born May 3, 2008.

I remember when I first saw Fred Savage, it was on the movie The Princess Bride in 1987 where he played grandson to Peter Falk. He was so young and cute! He did some other films in the 80’s which included Dinosaurs! – A Fun-Filled Trip Back in Time!, Vice Versa, The Wizard & Little Monsters. Some of his TV work includes the sitcoms Working & Crumbs.

He has also done voice for the animated TV show Generator Rex as Noah Nixon and the cartoon series Oswald where he is the voice for Oswald the blue octopus. Now I must say something about this adorable show, the characters are so cute, it is just a simple little cartoon with a big blue octopus, who is very gentle, polite and big-hearted! He has many friends who include Henry the Penguin, Daisy, Catrina, Madame Butterfly, Johnny Snowman, The Egg Twins, Pongo, Cactus Polly, Sammy Starfish, Steve Tree, Andy Pumpkin, Bingette Bunny, Roderick Robot, Bingo, and last but not least his tiny little dog Weenie. They have many adventures together in the Big City! Silly as this sounds but my cat Harold just loves this show! He gets excited when he hears the voices and I catch him watching it sometimes!  LOL

In 1999, Savage began his directing career on some television series, Zoey 101, Drake & Josh, Ned’s Declassified, and Big Time Rush for Nickelodeon, as well as That’s So Raven, Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place for the Disney Channel. Most recently he served as producer for several episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Party Down, and Phil of the Future.

Fred Savage Tidbits:

-By age 6, he was acting in radio and TV commercials, including one for Pac-Man vitamins.

-His first kiss happened on camera, with Danica McKellar, who played Winnie on The Wonder Years.

-In 1989, at age 13, he became the youngest actor nominated for a Best Actor Emmy.
