Prometheus is a 2012 science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof (you may remember his for his work on the TV series LOST). The film began development in the early 2000s as a fifth entry in the Alien franchise, with both Scott and director James Cameron developing ideas for a film that would serve as a prequel to Scott’s 1979 science fiction horror film Alien. According to Scott, though the film shares “strands of Alien’s DNA, so to speak”, and takes place in the same universe, Prometheus will explore its own mythology and ideas.

Favorite TV Shows of the Past – Part 2 “The Bob Newhart Show”

This is going to be a rather long blog, the reason being, I LOVED The Bob Newhart Show and still watch it in reruns almost every night on ME TV! This show starred Bob Newhart as Bob Hartley a psychologist who deals with his patients and fellow co-workers, and his home life with his loving wife Emily (Suzanne Pleshette). Bob & Emily’s neighbor was Howard Borden, an airline navigator, played by Bill Daily. He is always popping in on Bob & Emily as he lives right next door in the same apartment building (I can hear him now, “Hi Bob! Hi Emily!) At the medical office where Bob has his psychology practice are Jerry Robinson, D.D.S.(Peter Bonerz), an orthodontist who shared the office suite, and their joke-loving receptionist, Carol Kester (Marcia Wallace).

Favorite Cartoons of the Past – Part 1

I was in the mood to blog about some of my favorite cartoons from the past…To get my weekend started, every Friday afternoon I would make my hideout with a large coffee table, a big blanket or sheet thrown over the table with lots of comfy pillows (my pet poodle, Francie, would always jump on top of it and I would have to redo it again, lol!) Anyways, Saturday morning was finally here after waiting all week long for the day to sit in my jammies, with my sugar coated cereal of choice and watching my favorite cartoons!

I Love TV Commercials – Part 1

Do you all remember as a child waking up on Saturday Morning to watch your favorite cartoons (which I will be blogging about some of those in the future) and seeing all those great commercials on those new toys you just had to have and the yummy cereals with that surprise toy inside the box (didn’t it seem you always had to dig to the bottom of the box to find it?!), plus many other cool ads we had back in the day….well here is the start of what will be continued in additional blogs as there were many commercials that were sometimes as much entertaining as the shows we watched!

The Care Bears – The Voices behind the Characters

Welcome to my blog on the voices behind these lovable and whimsical characters we call The Care Bears. The Care Bears TV Series ran from 1985 – 1988 here in the United States on ABC TV. The Care Bears are from a magical place faraway up in the clouds called Care-a-Lot, which constitutes a part of the Kingdom of Caring. Their cousins live in the Forest of Feelings. Together they care for the human children on Earth, who they watch through huge telescopes from the sky, and come to help whenever there is need.

Charlie’s Angels gave us three sexy female private eyes to watch every week, and starred Kate Jackson (seasons 1–3), Jaclyn Smith (seasons 1–5), Farrah Fawcett-Majors (season 1), Cheryl Ladd (seasons 2–5) Shelley Hack (season 4) Tanya Roberts (season 5) David Doyle (seasons 1–5) and, John Forsythe (voice of Charlie; seasons 1–5). The show ran from 1976 to 1981. Did you know that it was originally going to be named The Alley Cats! Now that is funny!

Here is a little bit about each star of the show:

Mia Wasikowska was born and raised in Australia. At the age of nine she was training as a ballerina but gave that up at 14 due to increasing pressure to achieve physical perfection and her growing dissatisfaction with the industry in general. She is quoted as saying “Dance is about [the] minute things that most people don’t notice but that dancers are trained to see and spend hours obsessing over in front of the mirror. Dancers are kept in a perpetual state of pre-puberty [and] that type of pressure breeds insecurities.” However, she credits ballet with improving her ability to handle her nerves in auditions: “I’d be a very different person if I didn’t have ballet as my background. Dance really toughens you up.”

BLUE BLOODS TV Series & Cast

I wanted to blog about this great show Blue Bloods and some of the cast. I came into this show late, just started watching this season, hopefully I can watch the other episodes sometime.

The show revolves around an Irish-American Reagan family of police officers with the New York City Police Department. They are a close-knit family and in each episode there is a scene where they are all gathered around their large dinner table eating and discussing the days events, of work and or personal affairs. Those scenes always give me a warm and fuzzy feeling, that sense of family, just wonderful!

Well here is the start on the fantastic cast of NCIS…

Micheal Weatherly 2

Michael Weatherly was born Michael Manning Weatherly, Jr. on July 8th, 1968 New York City. He grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut and has 5 sisters and 1 brother. Michael graduated from Brooks School in North Andover, Massachusetts, in 1986. He attended American University of Paris for two years. I read a funny story about Michael about when he was living in the red-light district in Paris, he was 19 at the time and was attending the American University. Anyways he got to know the ladies of the evening as he made his way to and from school, but says he was too broke to ever “visit” with them. He recalled: “So my mom came to visit, of course, and we are walking down the street and every hooker is, ‘Bonjour Michael.’ And I am, “Mom, they don’t know me. They just see me all the time.” My mom was, ‘There are a lot of ladies in the neighborhood.’
